Step-by-step Training
This is a convenient entry point for starting to learn how to study the Bible. It consists of 19 email lessons and one lesson is sent to you every other day. Although the lessons in this free course are brief, they get you started studying the Bible.
The lessons toward the end of the course introduce you to the ideas that are expanded in later classes for managing your motivation to study the Bible. These principles are drawn from Christian psychology and help you avoid patterns that derail your desire for God and help you invest in patterns that strengthen your motivation.

Each course has a book associated with it and email lessons are delivered to you twice a week. Each lesson corresponds to a section in the book and the email also has links to a video where I [N] explain the Bible study technique and to a video where Denise covers the motivational issue.
There is an assignment associated with each lesson and you will be a member of an electronic forum where you can ask questions and interact with others who are doing the same assignments.
If you want to teach these courses to your small group, the videos will be available in DVD form and the books will be available in electronic or hard copy form.

We divided this book into 8 chapters. Each chapter covers a Bible study skill and a motivational issue so your motivation develops at the same time your Bible study skill is developing.
There is an assignment associated with each lesson and space is provided to write the assignment in the book. Answers for each assignment are provided in the appendix.
The book is designed so you can go through it individually at your own pace. Or one person in a small group can read one chapter aloud while the others take notes in the space provided.
This is the textbook for the first two online courses, WAVE101 and WAVE102, and gives you a foundation upon which you can build a lifetime of devotion to God.
