Today, the latest release of Wave Study Bible, iPhone Edition, was launched in the iTunes App Store.

The highlights of this release included

• A new feature to lock the screen in portrait mode
• A feature in the Apple Settings App which allows you to turn on/off “hyperscrolling” – Wave’s ability to scroll by chapter if you scroll fast enough
• Reliability enhancements for many different areas of the app based on feedback.

Keep the feedback coming!

• in the iTunes store  you can rate each release (rate us highly if you like us and leave written feedback)
• Click on the Ask Us tab at the left of the browser window to ask a question or leave feedback.

Well, we’ve had a very busy two weeks here at Wave Study Bible.  The response has been phenomenal both in terms of downloads and positive feedback.

As promised, we only send out a newsletter when we have something important to share with you.

This week, we had five things:

1. Product News

We launched an update of Wave Study Bible in the App Store earlier this week. The update fixes some issues that a few of you had reported.

Go get the update if you haven’t already.

2. A Tip

Did you know you can share a favorite Bible verse with your friends in Wave format – the same verse in parallel translations with the visual appeal we’ve heard you enjoy so much.

Take a look at an example by clicking here.

To share a verse:

- select the verse you like

- click on the ? at the lower left of the screen

- click on the Share button

- then click on Email Current Verse

- this brings up the email form and allows you to enter in the email address of your friends.

It’s that easy. Try it with your own email address!

3. A Contest

We are giving away a free Bible version to the first 10 people who find “Joe the Surfer” in Wave Study Bible and email us how to make him show up.

When you take an action in Wave Study Bible that can take time to complete, Wave plays a simple animation of “Joe the Surfer” to entertain you. “Joe the Surfer” is an animation by local surf artist Alberto Verdeja who is behind the www.surfreal.us web site. We chose his work because his art conveys a fresh creative attitude that is very helpful when reading the Bible.

You might have heard a little bit of news about Apple’s iPad recently. We have had iPad’s in hand since the first availability on April 3rd and are working on the iPad version of Wave Study Bible. We won’t commit any dates because we want to make sure the experience is great but you should know it is our top priority from a development perspective.  We will have more information on our new web site that should launch in the next 48 hours.
